Last week some friends and I embarked on a 13 hour drive from North Carolina to Mississippi. Our goal was to tow our boat to Mississippi and fish the fertile waters of the Gulf. We decided to start our trip at midnight so we could avoid daytime traffic and arrive just in time to check into the hotel. The 265WT immediately impressed me with its night time display. It also showed us a better way to navigate the first leg of the drive. The voice directions with verbal street names were also very helpful as we had a boat in tow and needed to keep our eyes glued to the highway. The unit was dead on and brought us right to the Hotel. When it was time to go out for dinner, the 265w was able to show a list of nearby restaurants for our crew to choose from. After a long week of fishing we hit the home button on the display and we were on our way back to the Carolina Coast. The 265WT definitely saved us time and money by giving us better routes and helping us not to make any wrong turns. I would highly recommend it for the daily commuter or for a long trip. The Garmin Nuvi 265WT comes pre-loaded with the Garmin City Navigator data for North America, with data provided by Navteq. The nuvi 265 WT is also loaded with nearly 6 million Points of Interest including Hotels, Restaurants, ATM’s, Gas Stations and many more. Just use the touch screen to enter in the address or point of interest that you want to navigate to and the Nuvi 265W will provide both vocal and on screen directions to your destination. The Garmin Nuvi 265WT can be viewed in either 2D overhead or a 3D view of the road ahead. If you miss a turn do not worry as it will recalculate directions and get you back on track. Are you going to walk around an unfamiliar city? The Nuvi 265WT has a pedestrian mode so it can give you the best directions for travel by foot.
The Nuvi 265 WT comes with the Garmin FM traffic receiver for real time traffic information from Navteq. The Navteq traffic information is transmitted through an FM broadcast to your receiver allowing the unit to use that information and route you around any delays, including traffic jams, construction, or accidents.
